This MEd (ICTE) unit provides students with the opportunity to explore traditional and contemporary perspectives on instructional design, and the design of learning environments, materials and systems in non-classroom based education. The unit adopts a flexible learning, student centred approach and expects students to engage in collaborative personally relevant investigations.
Students will acquire skills in constructing multimedia artefacts such as images, audio, and video, and applying these artefacts to an educational setting. Students will also explore new and emerging instructional media such as Web 2.0 and virtual environments. Throughout the unit students will have the opportunity to critically evaluate educational multimedia and their role in education and training.
